Trace Adkins and the best solo album debut ever

Everything that has beginning, has ending. This blog is beginning of my journey with country music which started in 2014 as little, innocent affair and later on turn out to be a lifetime love.
Speaking of beginnings, ‘Dreamin’ out loud’ might be the best solo album debut in the history of country music.
Every country music fan knows who Trace Adkins is, right? But not every fan knows how awesome his debut album is.
It’s standard ten tracks album. It contains his four songs - “There’s a Girl in Texas”, “I Left Something Turned On At Home”, “Every Light In The House”, “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing” which are consistently on his greatest hits albums. There’s no doubt these are good songs, right? How about other six songs? Are they bad or maybe so called music critics have said that they ain’t worth listening to?

According to Spotify data (I've counted it few weeks ago) these four hits were played 18 290 917 times combined. The rest of the songs were played 467 727 times combined. Why? Why such a difference? I ask.
If we take a closer look at these songs, we find out that they  ain't actually so bad and there’s one hidden gem among them.

“Dreamin’ Out Loud” – song is about mistakes that he made in the past and he need to fix all to stop dreaming out loud. When you hear this song for a few times you’ll start to think about the past and how you could fix it, perhaps. That’s what I love in country music. It makes you think, dream when you really listen the songs.
Phrase of the song: All I hear is her whisper my name. All I see is her hair tumble down. When I feel the touch of her hand in mine. I find I’m dreamin’ out loud.

“If I Fall (You’re Goin’ With Me)” – it’s a song about a temporary relationship which might turn out to be a lifetime thing, who knows. It’s a catchy song. Warning: while listening, you might beat out a rhythm with your fingers.
Phrase of the song: If I give all my heart. You better get ready. ‘Cause you’re goin’ with me. If I fall.

“It Was You” – one may call it just another love ballad but I call it one of the most beautiful love songs ever written and sang by Trace. In my opinion it’s the hidden gem of this album. This song is on my secret (shhh, nobody can find out)  list called “songs to play for the special one, not just any other gal”. In this song you won’t find any new romantic phrases. It’s a simple and yet very beautiful song about love. These listening instructions will help you embrace, feel this song: close your eyes and listen carefully to every word then you’ll feel the love in every sentence sang by Trace Adkins.
Phrase of the song: It wasn’t the stars in the sky. That got to me that night. Or the music that we were dancing to. It wasn’t the moon up above. That had me falling in love. It was more than all those things alone could do. It was you.

I Can Only Love You Like a Man” – From early days every girl hears fairy tales like Cinderella and they dream of finding that prince charming, but then comes reality that there ain’t no heroes on white horses, maybe just country boys in muddy boots. But sometimes you can find a man who will try as much as it’s possible to be that hero. This song is basically about that. It’s simple and lovely at the same time.
Phrase of the song: There ain’t no knight in shinin’ armor. There ain’t no never, never land. And I won’t ever walk on water. I can only love you like a man.

“634-5789” – it’s basically another love song but this time it’s more catchy and lively. If you need anything (especially pleasant favor) just dial 634-5789
Phrase of the song: If you need a little loving call on me. If you want a little hugging call on me.

“A Bad Way of Saying Goodbye” – it’s a sad song about goodbyes, dah! Sometimes love fades away, you strongly disagree with someone you love and then relationship ends. Sometimes it’s no one’s fault and you break up. That’s how it is. And the song is about that kind of thing.
Phrase of the song: It’s not your fault, but it’s not mine. We both made mistakes though we tried. So leaving without saying I’m sorry. Is a bad way of saying goodbye.
